CINCINNATI - Sometimes it's scary to make a change in your life, or dare to make a dream come true.
So that's why some 300 women gathered at the Mayerson JCC on November 4.
The event was called "Imagine...Then Do It." And I'm glad I was part of it.
I moderated a discussion with two really impressive women who have very different kinds of success: Pure Romance founder and CEO Patty Brisben, and Heather Ingle, a mother of 14, who has taken in children with a spectrum of challenges.
Heather says she knew even as a teenager that she wanted to help children. She and her husband were foster parents even before they had biological children. They have adopted 11 children, many with special physical, mental and emotional needs.
Heather's advice: you can't wait for the perfect time to make your dreams happen. You have to just go for it.
Patty Brisben started Pure Romance in her basement 17 years ago, and now has 60,000 consultants selling millions of dollars worth of intimacy products every year.
She told how her business led her to start the Patty Brisben Foundation to help women with sexual health issues. It developed through Pure Romance, because she has found so many women struggling with intimacy after cancer, or dealing with pain disorders.
